Long-term Tolerability

At 1 year, 77% of patients remained on Vimpat treatment, according to results from a multicenter, open-label extension trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of long-term exposure to adjunctive Vimpat.1

Graph: High long-term retention rate demonstrated in open-label extension trials
  • Open-label extension of 3 phase II, multicenter, multinational,
    placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized trials.

See full study description.

  • At 30 months, the patient retention rate remained high (>50%)1

Efficacy continues after 1 year of open-label treatment1

  • At 1 year, 46% of patients experienced a ≥50% reduction in seizure frequency
  • Patient exposures sustained over 6 years
  • Most common concomitant antiepileptic drugs in the long-term trial were levetiracetam (38%), lamotrigine (32%), and carbamazepine (31%)
